Origin Drip Irrigation Systems: The Best Results from a Pot

Origin Drip Irrigation Systems combine the familiar flexibility of pot growing with the accuracy and performance of active hydroponics. They allow you to run multiple pots from a single reservoir, feeding little and often through drippers to create faster growth, stronger roots, and consistently higher yields, without the daily workload of hand watering.

How It Works
Pots sit securely in the Origin tray above a nutrient solution tank. Your plants are grown in your chosen medium such as clay pebbles, coco, soil, or stonewool, and fed via dedicated drippers suited to each medium. An irrigation timer controls feed frequency, automatically delivering nutrient solution to each pot.

As the solution moves through the medium and across the root zone, it drains back into the catchment tank. This draw-down effect pulls fresh oxygen into the root area every time you feed. By giving plants small, regular feeds throughout the day, Origin systems maintain the ideal nutrient-to-water ratio, promoting better oxygen uptake and healthier, more productive plants.

Why Choose Origin

  • Bigger yields: Plants take up more water and nutrients than with hand watering, thanks to consistent, frequent feeding.

  • More choice: Compatible with soil, coco, clay pebbles, mixed media, or stonewool, with the right dripper option for each.

  • Less hassle: One reservoir can support up to 20 plants, needing only periodic top-ups instead of constant manual feeding.

  • Flexible layout: Pots remain independent, so plants can be moved, rotated under lights, or replaced easily. Feed frequency can be adjusted by timer as plants develop.

  • Reliable design: Anti-leak construction keeps pots snug in fitted tray slots over the reservoir, reducing the chance of spills in your grow space.

Growers’ Tips

  • Use a de-scaler from day one: A cleaning additive such as Plant Magic Pure Clean or House & Garden Drip Clean helps prevent dripper blockage and keeps lines clear.

  • Match the dripper to your medium:

    • Clay pebbles: Blue flood drippers (40 L/hr).

    • Soil, coco, mixed media, or stonewool: Black arrow drippers (2 L/hr).

  • Let the system mix for you: After changing nutrients, open the system tap and manually run the pump for a few minutes to fully circulate and even out the solution before feeding
