Description
Oxypot Deep Water Culture Systems
Oxypot Deep Water Culture (DWC) systems deliver one of the simplest and fastest ways to cultivate in water. In a DWC setup, plant roots sit directly in a constantly oxygenated nutrient solution. An air pump runs continuously, keeping the root zone highly aerated so plants have 24/7 access to water, nutrients, and oxygen without timers or complicated irrigation schedules.
Oxypot systems are compact and self-contained, with no separate control tank or shared reservoir. That means you get maximum use of floor space and reduce the risk of cross-contamination between plants. Day-to-day use is straightforward: keep the root tank topped up with nutrient solution and let the system do the rest.
Benefits of the System
-
Minimal growing media required, clay pebbles are recommended for support and airflow
-
No timers or feeding schedules to manage, air pump runs continuously
-
Roots stay perfectly oxygenated, reducing risk of waterlogging or dry-outs
-
Compact, space-efficient design with no separate water butt
-
No shared nutrient solution, lowering risk of cross-contamination
-
Rapid growth and heavy yields thanks to constant access to oxygen and nutrition
-
Flexible options available for single-pot or multi-pot setups to suit any space
Growers’ Tips
-
Use the mesh pots for propagation and early rooting, then transplant directly once established
-
Veg lids are available for Oxypot XL and Oxypot 4, allowing higher plant numbers in a smaller footprint during early growth
-
Reversible lids help smaller plants reach the solution sooner; flip the lid as roots develop for ideal placement
-
Keep air stones clean and replace if output drops to maintain strong oxygenation
-
Maintain stable nutrient temperatures for best root health, ideally 18–22 °C
-
Check pH and EC regularly and adjust as needed for your chosen nutrient programme
-
Top up little and often to keep levels consistent and avoid sudden swings
